Iron Annie Amazonas Impressionen

Iron Annie Amazonas Impressionen

In this collection, the name says it all. Iron Annie chose the Amazonas as inspiration for the models in this series, as the flying machine was used there for many years as a cargo and passenger aircraft. Iron Annie combines the warm colours of the Amazon region in this series with the typical Iron Annie style. read more
More from Iron Annie:

The German watch brand Iron Annie has taken an almost 90 year old airplane as its model. The flying machine Junkers Ju 52/3m, used as eponym and inspiration of the brand, has been flying in the air all over the world since 1932. Today the "D-AQUI" is the only still certified aircraft of this legendary type. Because of the concise corrugated iron planking the model got the nickname "Iron Annie" in the USA, which is still common today.

The fact, that the legendary flying machine was used worldwide, is illustrated in the Amazonas Impression series, which is currently focusing on its use in South America. From 1957 to 1963, the Ecuadorian airline Transportes Aereos Orientales used the D-AQUI under the name Amazonas. During this period, the aircraft was used to transport freight and passengers. Inspired by the rainforest, the warm colours chosen for the dials are particularly striking.
