The German watch brand Iron Annie has taken an almost 90 year old airplane as its model. The flying machine Junkers Ju 52/3m, used as eponym and inspiration of the brand, has been flying in the air all over the world since 1932. Today the "D-AQUI" is the only still certified aircraft of this legendary type. Because of the concise corrugated iron planking the model got the nickname "Iron Annie" in the USA, which is still common today.
However, the watch brand did not only use the name of the icon. Some models are reminiscent of the corrugated sheets used, while others have a dial design inspired by the elements of Iron Annie's cockpit. The range includes Bauhaus-style men's watches, that convince with their simplicity. In the 100 years of Bauhaus collection, the style of the still very well-known art school was even created its own monument in watch form. In various designs and colours, the chronographs, dual-time watches and pilot's watches offer a suitable model for every taste.
