The German watch brand Iron Annie has taken an almost 90 year old airplane as its model. The flying machine Junkers Ju 52/3m, used as eponym and inspiration of the brand, has been flying in the air all over the world since 1932. Today the "D-AQUI" is the only still certified aircraft of this legendary type. Because of the concise corrugated iron planking the model got the nickname "Iron Annie" in the USA, which is still common today.
The D-AQUI collection combines many different elements of the flying machine of the same name. On the one hand the characteristic corrugated iron structure, which was taken up in the dial, on the other hand elements from the cockpit, as for instance the numbers and hands, but also elements like red pushers, let the models become very special time indicators. Further highlights of the watches are the functions of some models, such as a second time zone or chronograph functions.
