Because of his love for a young woman, Paul Hewitt, the master refiner, moved in the early 20th century from London to Oldenburg, then a Frisian part of Prussia. In his new homeland he discovered the perfect symbiosis of British elegance and North German quality standards and built up a respected business for classic men's clothing and accessories. More than 100 years later his great-grandson discovered this inspiring story in the family memoirs and founded his own brand for watches and accessories, which also followed the tradition of his ancestor, namely to develop unique quality products with a North German identity.

Paul Hewitt's watches are minimalist, timelessly elegant and of course North German. An anchor is used as a symbol on the dials of watches and in jewellery and has become the trademark of Paul Hewitt. He stands for the connection to the North and the cosmopolitan lifestyle associated with it. The design creates a maritime flair, that runs through all the brand's lines.
